Priscilla: Queen of the Desert
Directed by: Stephan Elliot
Stars: Hugo Weaving, Terrance Stamp, Guy Pearce
Genre: Comedy/Musical
Basic Plot:
Three drag queens decide to drive to the middle of the desert of Australia to perform their show.
Review:
This movie, as the tagline says; change how you think, and most importantly, how you dress. The gaudy costumes combined with the fantastic, indeed, gay, soundtrack makes this movie fabulous. In every sense of the word. Weaving, Pearce and Stamp all make this movie as good as it is, the actors who are classed as ‘masculine manly men’ play the role of the three drag queens and they do it so well. I have never laughed so hard in my life. Far from a drag; the storyline is actually quite good, as they travel through Australia, the trio meet many interesting characters who contribute as much to the movie as the main story.
Rating (IMBD): 7.3/10
Rating (Me): 8/10
